Thoughts on Parenting -1

Was channel surfing and saw Baghban (Hindi Movie) being played on one of the channels. That particular scene caught my attention.

This is the scene where Hema malini says "Shayad meri parvarish mein kami thi" meaning " May be my upbringing could have been better" and this line got me thinking.

How hard it must be for a mom to admit that there were better ways to raise her children. Several things could have been done in several ways. And I would like to think that I choose the correct way based on my judgement at that point and that is the best I can do. To question myself about that judgement would be the biggest punishment for me.

Have been having several thoughts about how we have been raising Sahithi. And I see my short comings. Not having patience being the most biggest one. I will have to work on it. I don't want to look back and tell myself " I should have done better".

Scene @ our household 8 30 AM today morning

Dada already left for work.
Momy struggling to finish last minute chores before leaving.
Sahithi sitting at the table drinking her milk...

Out of the blue the following conversation occurred.

Sahithi : Momy..
Momy: Yes sweetheart.....
Sahithi: You have brother???
Momy : hmmmmmmm
Sahithi : Is mama your brother??
Momy : hmmmmmmm
Sahithi: You have husband???
Momy : hmmmmmmm
Sahithi : Is Dada your husband??
Momy : hmmmmmmm
Sahithi: You have daughter???
Momy : hmmmmmmm
Sahithi: *The biggest grin on her face* I am your daughter
Momy : *Laughing loudly* yes kannama you are my daughter...
Sahithi " * a little forlornly* you have a brother, husband and a daughter.. I only have mom and dada
Momy: * Totally, absolutely and completely dumbfounded*....
