Bling...Anyone...

Happy Halloween.... to all who are celebrating it.

This one is so much of a peer pressure on kids. Sahithi has been talking about Halloween from past one month and she had decided to become a princess. I tried talking her out of it but finally she talked me into it...what can I say, I am softie at heart. :):)

So here she is doing her trial run with the costume tonight
Do you think there is sufficient bling on her? :):)

I can't wait to see all the kids dressed up in their Halloween best. Especially the ones who are celebrating their first Halloween. Satya, Adya, Kutti Girl, Mieja, Dlittle. I know some of you don't post the pictures of the kids, but I am hoping that you will post a picture of the costume.

It Hurts...

I have not been in a proper frame of mind from a couple of weeks and I owe it to someone who I call my closest friend. For no apparent reason she chose to cutoff from me and it hurts, hurts real bad. she is based in India and so I can't even go visit her to sit and talk it out. After a million phone calls, that were ignored and a thousand emails that were never acknowledged, there is nothing else that I can do. All I wanted to know was if I did something to deserve this and she is not even giving me a chance to ask her.

She is the sweetest and one of the most loving person I know. She has always been there for me, through thick and thin and we could always be dependant on each other, no matter what. Well, I just pray that what ever is troubling her will go away soon and things will be back to normal because I miss her, a lot.

This is a prayer for you Dear Friend,

Dear God,

With this prayer I call to mind my friends.
I ask for Your blessings on them.
May angels fill their nights And bless their days.
May they find joy and peace and harmony.
May I be a source of happiness in their lives.
May our bond be strong and based on truth.
May they always know that In me, they have support.
May I live a life that Lives up to this prayer.
Thank you God...Amen.

Southern California Fires

If you guys have been following the news about Southern California fires, please pray for all the people who have suffered because of it. Being right in the center of this devastation reemphasised the fact of how insignificant and helpless we are when forces of nature decide to take things into their hands.

Culture vs. Religion

I was reading some old magazine left in the break room at work. There was a statement in it from a 21 year old.

I don't think culture is important. What is important is religion.

I read it and re-read it. And was still confused.
I would like to know your thoughts on this.

Fellow bloggers, readers ( I know I have about three of you :)), random visitors, please let me know your thoughts on it. Leave a comment or do a post of your own or send me an email to sahithismom@gmail.com

Tagged.....for our song...

Kiran tagged me to reveal our song to blogosphere. I saw that and thought and thought and then emailed hubby dear asking him "What is our song?".

He said "Song??what song??why song??" as expected.

I said "what do you think should be our song?"

After 10 minutes i get an email with a random Telugu song that has got nothing to do either of us and him saying that may be this was our song. He has not one romantic bone in his body nor a romantic thought in his head.*Sigh*

So I start thinking again, remembered bits and pieces from our courting days and then bits and pieces were not enough and so had a complete flashback :). And that's when I remembered. When he told what his favourite song was and I had refused to believe that he liked that song. And he told me that I need to listen to the song not just hear it. I did and loved it. Found it online in a downloadable version, zipped it and sent it to him. Ahhhh.... those days...

Well that song is "mai hoon khush rang henna" from the movie Henna. For now, I will say that this could be termed as our song, until we have a song that we can officially call ours.

poppinsmom , Trishna , Kodismom, Boo, did not do it, will pass this on to them.

Dada's Discipline

Sahithi and I went to see a telugu movie along with my brother. Hubby Dear could not make it because he had to work. A lot of Sahithi's friends were there at the movies and so all these made a racket, running around and in general having fun. And she gave a lot of trouble to come home after that. We come home and I told Hubby Dear what she did. He thought of taking matters into his own hands to discipline her. This is the conversation that followed.

Dada: You have been very naughty today. You will be grounded now.

Sahithi : *Smiling her most charming smile*

Dada : You gave momy a lot of trouble. You will be grounded

Sahithi : You have been saying grounded grounded all day and you are not getting ready to take me to the ground. How can I be grounded if we don't go the ground?

Dada: *Laughing so hard that any no thoughts of discipline were left*

Momy : *muttering to herself *"Why do I get to be the bad guy all the time??"

Love...

"Being so full of love for your child that you would feel that you will burst and that if you burst and die, you would have a died a happy person"

Had one of those moments today. Nothing special happened. Sahithi and I were just sitting and talking and all of a sudden all these emotions swelled in me. I gave her a tight hug and she goes" amma, let me finish what I am saying. You are disturbing me"
